Exploration and Production in California

Montlhéry stands as a testament to a rich lineage deeply intertwined with the oil and gas industry.  The company, founded by a family with four generations devoted to California's oil and gas scene, has been actively engaged in Kern, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara counties since the 1980s.

Our founder, Ernest Walker Sawyer, carved an illustrious path within the industry. In 1929, Sawyer was appointed assistant to the U.S. Secretary of the Interior, a position that further paved his way to establishing Sawyer Petroleum Company.  His role in the Department of Interior under the administrations of Presidents Hoover and Eisenhower was pivotal, especially in surveying Alaska's natural resources before it gained statehood.  His significant contributions have been commemorated with the naming of Sawyer Glacier, situated in Tracy Arm near Juneau, Alaska.

At Montlhéry, we carry forward the torch of innovation and excellence ignited by our founder.  Our commitment is to serve as a dependable partner in the oil and gas industry, ensuring high-quality service and resources for our clients.

Guided by our family motto, "Cherches et tu trouveras," which translates to "seek and you will find," we continuously strive to uncover potential opportunities, providing industry-leading solutions while honoring our deep-rooted history in California's oil and gas exploration and production.
